The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Rostov Region

The Rostov Region is one of the leading regions in the south of Russia.

The CCI of the Rostov Region includes more than 900 organizations and individual entrepreneur, and also five regional chambers of commerce and industry – those of Volgodonsk, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky, Novocherkassk, Taganrog and Shakhty. The CCI of the Rostov Region has been the largest and most important regional business association for many years.

Rostov region is located in the South of Russia on the crossing of land- and water-routes. The region has a well-developed transportation infrastructure. Being the Russian "gateway" to the Black Sea and to the Caspian Sea basins, Rostov region has a well- developed transportation infrastructure made up of railways, federal highways, seaports and river ports together with Rostov- on-Don International Airport.

There are 7 ports located on the territory of our region. The cargoes are handled by river-marine vessels from the ports of Rostov region to the countries of Black, Azov and Baltic Seas. Taganrog, Rostov, and Azov ports operate on an all-year-round navigation basis. The seaports and river ports of the Rostov region handle river-marine vessels of more than 5 thousand metric tons covering distances up to Gibraltar. Access to the Mediterranean region and to Western European countries is provided via the Bosporus Strait; the Danube and Rhine rivers provide access to the countries of the Danube Region.

The extremely favourable territorial location of Rostov region contributes to the dynamic development of the diversified economy of the region. Rostov region is a district with powerful industrial, agricultural and scientific and technical potential. By the level of development and diversity of branches of industry Rostov region is one of the leading in Russian Federation.

The most important positions occupy mechanical engineering, food industry, metallurgy and power industry. Many enterprises of the region have an all Russian significance, being the only and the largest manufactories of separate types of production in the country. 

At the same time with developed and diversified industry the powerful agricultural complex was created and successfully developing in the region.

Rostov region is the biggest trade and business center in the South of Russia. The export-import operations are carried out with 159 countries around the world including the exportation of goods, produced by local manufacturers, to 139 countries.

Considering the significance of the Rostov Region as a region actively involved in international cooperation, a representative office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established here in 2001. The Rostov Region is also home to ten diplomatic missions of foreign states, namely:

• Consulates general of Armenia, Romania, Ukraine and Uzbekistan;
• Embassy branch office of Belarus in the Russian Federation;
• Honorary consuls of Abkhazia, Spain, North Macedonia, France and Monaco.

A most important line of activity of the Chamber is development of foreign trade. Representatives of the CCI of the Rostov Region operate in seventeen foreign countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Italy, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, Syria, USA.
